Jazzmob "Flashback" JARCD042 - 2008

Jazzmob

Flashback, 2006

On their 4th album Jazzmob steps out as a powerful, grooving and hard swinging live outfit that will satisfy not only the traditional fan of contemporary jazz, but also listeners that are into the exciting mix of acoustic/electric sounds by artists like Sun Ra, Ornette Coleman, Jimi Hendrix, Miles Davis annd Frank Zappa who started it way back in the late 50s-60s and into the 70s.. And then of course we can never forget the influences by Bird and Trane. Jazzmob´s rhythm section are a force of nature and the horns lock in tight at the right places without loosing the free spirit that is one of Jazzmob´s trademarks.

Jazzmob "Infernal Machine" JARCD022 2006

Infernal Machine, 2006

Jazzmob was founded in 1998 by saxophonist Jon Klette and they released their first CD called The Truth on their own label
Beboporbedead Rec. back in 1999. The album which was a double live cd recieved very good reviewes in the Norwegian musicpress, but had no proper distribution. It only sold about 350 copies in local music stores and by Jon Klette at concerts. Jazzmob performed two concerts at Molde International Jazzfestival in 2000, and has since then been active on the music scene in Oslo, Norway.

Jazzmob almost exclusively perform original material composed by Jon Klette and Anders Aarum, and their music draw inspiration from such diverse sources as Frank Zappa, John Coltrane, Ornette Coleman, Miles Davis, Jimi Hendrix, Don Cherry, progrock/classic bebop and beyond (Parker/Powell/Navarro live at Birdland 1950)

On their new album Jazzmob has taken their electro/acoustic concept to another level. Their music is hard swinging and filled with infectious grooves and exciting interplay
