Shagma

Shagma, 2005

The group Shagma was formed in 2004 and has in short time gained a very good reputation as a live band in Norwegian clubs and festivals.

Shagma features the young and very talented saxophone/clarinet player Jørgen Mathisen, and the drummer Espen Aalberg and bassist Steinar Raknes is well known from other Norwegian groups such as "The Core" and "Urban Connection".

Shagmas music is inspired from 60's modal jazz as well as more modern rock and funk. Their debut album on Jazzaway Records is hard swinging and will get them a lot of new fans outside Norway also.
