Tony Malaby - tenor saxophone
Eivind Opsvik - upright bass
Jeff Davis - drums Tone

Collector has been collecting tones in New York for about three years, but in August 2004 Tone Collector had the pleasure of playing two nights at the intimate Stockholm venue; Glenn Miller Café. A mix of free improvisations and compositions was performed for an enthusiastic audience.

Tony Malaby is originally from Tucson, Arizona, but has been permanently based in New York since 1995 and is one of the most adventurous saxophonists on the Scene right now. Tony has been attracting a lot of attention lately playing in the bands of Charlie Haden, Paul Motian, Mark Helias and Fred Hersch as well as leading his own groups. He is fascinated with the line that marks harmonic playing from the free.

Eivind Opsvik is from Norway, but has been living in NYC since 1998 and has recently been playing with musicians like Bill Frisell, Marc Copland, Mat Maneri, Craig Taborn and Kenny Wollesen. He has released two CD's under his own name; “Overseas” and "Overseas II". Jeff Davis is an energetic and spirited player who's been making a name for himself on the avant-garde scene in NYC where he's part of many underground experimental ensembles. Over the last five years Jeff and Eivind has spent countless hours playing together.
